We publish factual information about Queensland lottery operators and their games. Our editorial standards reflect the need for accuracy in a regulated industry where odds, rules, and licence status change. This page explains how we verify facts and correct errors.
Sources we accept
We draw lottery and gaming information from two classes of source. First: direct filings and published materials from the operator itself, including terms of play, odds statements, and contact details found on the operator's own website or regulatory submissions. Second: the public register maintained by the Office of Liquor and Gaming Regulation (OLGR Queensland), which records licences, conditions, and enforcement actions. Both sources are contemporaneous and auditable. We treat them as authoritative.
Sources we reject
We do not cite information from offshore lottery-betting sites, unlicensed aggregators, or tipster forums. We avoid secondary reporting of odds or rules from news outlets unless the original operator filing is also available to us. Information presented as "exclusive" or drawn from unverifiable tips is rejected outright. Where an operator's own website and the regulator's register conflict, we note the discrepancy and contact the operator for clarification before publication.
What triggers an update
We refresh our records when a material change occurs: a change to odds or game rules announced by the operator; a revocation, suspension, or new condition on a licence published by OLGR Queensland; or a factual correction submitted by a reader with supporting evidence. Minor updates—such as a new phone number or address—are made silently. Substantive changes to odds, eligibility, or regulatory status are flagged with a dated correction note.
What a correction looks like
When we publish a factual error, a timestamped note appears at the top of the affected page, stating what was wrong, what is correct, and the date of the correction. The original text is not deleted; readers can see both the error and the fix. We also email a summary of the correction to [email protected]. Corrections of odds or licence status are treated as urgent. We aim to publish them within one working day of discovery.
